Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression and Degenerative Disc Disease in Roseville, CA

Non-surgical spinal decompression has been around for almost 20. Hundreds of thousands of people have had the procedure successfully help their pain, increase their mobility, and avoid costly, time-consuming and risky spinal surgery. There are practically no side effects (and certainly, no serious ones) to spinal decompression, and the efficacy has been proven over and over again both in research studies and (more importantly!) in clinical experience over and over again. I am amazed even to this day when we do post MRI’s on patients and see their disc bulges and herniations be re-absorbed into the normal disc space.

The above MRI’s are pre (left) and post (right) MRIs of one of our patients who elected to received non-surgical decompression instead of surgery. Her 9mm L4 disc herniation receded back into the normal space after 10 weeks of decompression! She avoided surgery and is doing great today (8 months later).

We also use decompression to help people with degenerative disc disease (DDD) These are people who have had long term chronic back problems that may have only resulted in minor discomfort over the years but resulted in increased wear and tear on the disc, vertebrae, joints and surrounding soft tissue. Degenerative disc disease can be debilitating. It can steal your life away making simple chores, and every day activities a challenge.

Degenerative discs occur when the normal fluid filled nucleus of the disc slowly gets dehydrated because the pumping mechanism of the disc is no longer working like should. As the disc becomes desiccated (dehydrated) the load (weight) shifts from the nucleus to the annulus (the outer part of the disc) and the vertebrae. Increased load causes the annulus to bulge and the vertebrae to start adding calcium lips and spurs (arthritis). This leads to more disfunction, degeneration, pain, stiffness and loss of function.

Luckily, non-surgical spinal decompression is designed to mimic the normal pumping action of the disc, and slowly help with re-hydration of the disc and increase of normal motion. It help slow down, and possibly even reverse some of the dysfunction and degeneration of spinal degeneration.

At our Roseville California Spinal Disc clinic, we are laser focused on helping your body heal, helping reduce or eliminate your pain and give you back some of those activities of daily living that you have lost. Call us today for a free MRI review, or second opinion on your condition.
